Field Service Engineer

Job description:

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for service and commissioning activities for new and existing gas turbines and generator sets at our customer’s sites. The main responsibilities are:

  • Install and commission gas turbines and generating sets in the field;
  • Perform inspections, measurements and tests in the field;
  • Perform maintenance, repairs and adjustments in the field, including adjustment of software (e.g. settings, sensors);
  • Coordinate our scope of work on-site and instruct third parties;
  • Function as a point of contact for the client regarding technical questions in the field;
  • Report on completed service work.

Capacity requirements:

  • Relevant BSc degree;
  • At least 5 years of experience with commissioning of technical installations;
  • Experience with electrical and/or PLC’s control systems;
  • Experience with rotating machinery or power generation is an advantage;
  • Important competencies are: communication, problem-solving, flexibility and quality and safety consciousness;
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Other notes:

This is a full-time position based in Hengelo, the Netherlands. Travelling will be an important part of this job (approx. 70%). Customer sites are located around the world. 24/7 standby duty will be part of this job therefore applicants must be within driving distance of Hengelo.
